  • Conciseness
  • Materiality
  • Stakeholder relationships
  • Strategic focus and future orientation

Key observations:

Enel introduces a materiality matrix which maps out the concerns which have been put forward by stakeholders, against the issues on which Enel plans to focus its efforts and the “level” at which this commitment will be addressed. The issues have been classified into business and governance issues, social issues and environmental management issues. The matrix provides a visually engaging and accessible view of the most important issues to Enel’s operations.

Enel uses the snapshot provided by the materiality analysis to develop and define the sustainability priorities which the Group intends to adopt in their sustainability plan. A table is provided to focus on each key issue which has arisen from the matrix, identifying for each the specific objectives and/or targets which Enel has made for future years at a Group level, to provide an insight into the future direction of the business.
