The Crown Estate provides an introduction to the sustainability section of the Report, noting both the achievements for the year and recognizing sustainability as a fundamental aspect of its license to operate. There is also a personal introduction by the appropriate Director for Sustainability.

The sustainability strategy is visualized, with a brief summary of each element and drivers to further information in the Report. The Crown Estate also note that efforts have been made to integrate their sustainability strategy into 'business decisions, investments, operations and goals', along with the stakeholder relationships which have been taken into consideration.
