Key observations:

SSE uses a Q&A with the Chief Executive and Finance Director to answer questions regarding SSE and the energy industry.  The discussion provides insight from management on key political and regulatory developments – including the Scottish referendum to become an independent state – and how these factors might impact the company. Topics covered also include security of supply and the affordability of energy, which as a utilities company, are vital to the long-term sustainability of the business. Lastly, the CEO addressed a question about recent criticism due to regulatory fines imposed as a result of the company’s electricity and gas selling practices.  This demonstrates SSE’s balanced approach to reporting, not shying away from ‘negative’ information but, instead, addressing lessons learned and measures taken by SSE to address the issue.
