Key observations:

HSBC explains that sustainability means 'being in business for the long term and meeting the needs of the present generation, without preventing future generations from satisfying theirs'. HSBC have identified the key components which the business considers make the business sustainable, before reviewing the key stakeholders which the business has consulted with to form the company's approach to sustainability. HSBC then provide an insight into the sustainability journey which the business has taken in the last decade by reviewing the key events that have occurred along the way. HSBC also provide an insight into the economic contribution of the business by providing a table which demonstrates where the distribution of HSBC's cash has been spent in the year.
