Cemex · Integrated Report 2017 · Governance

  • Value creation

Key observations:

In its 2017 Integrated Report, Cemex clearly and concisely illustrates the mechanisms through which integrity and ethical issues are addressed. In the Section on Governance, the main tools adopted by the organisation to nurture a culture of integrity both internally and externally, such as the code of conduct, training and communication on business ethics and Ethosline – a portal and phone line through which comments, suggestions and complaints can be sent – are illustrated mainly through narratives. The main outputs achieved are also presented in graphs through numbers. This is in line with para. 4.9 of the International <IR> Framework according to which an integrated report provides insight about “specific processes used to make strategic decisions and to establish and monitor the culture of the organization, including its attitude to risk and mechanisms for addressing integrity and ethical issues”.
